The Best of China School Trip will be an amazing learning experience and cultural journey as the students travel across China from Beijing to Xi’an and Shanghai. From the Great Wall to the Terracotta Army, they will get to admire some of the country’s most fascinating monuments, while discovering its ancient culture, history and heritage.

The tour will start in Beijing where the students will explore the picturesque Hutong lanes by rickshaw, visit a local family and tour the UNESCO-listed Forbidden City palace complex, built in the 1420 by the Ming Dynasty, as well as the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace

Also in the Beijing region, this school tour includes a day exploring the spectacular Great Wall of China, one of the wonders of the world; and the mausoleum tombs built by the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall is an unmissable place and one of the highlights of our Best of China school trip.

From Beijing, the group will travel by bullet train to Xi’an to explore the city and see the incredible Terracotta Army, one of the 20th century’s most spectacular archaeological finds and another highlight of this trip across China. The army of over 8000 warriors took over 700,000 labourers over 40 years to build. It was constructed for China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang who believed the statues would come alive in the afterlife and wanted to secure an army as powerful as the one he had on Earth.

From Xi’an the group will travel to Guilin to explore this region of dramatic landscapes and admire its stunning scenery on a river cruise to Yangshuo. They will also have the opportunity to visit the picturesque rice terraces of Longsheng and Longji Village.

The last stop on the Best of China School Trip is the city of Shanghai, the country’s financial centre and home to many great museums and entertainment.

The Best of China School Trip itinerary can be adapted to your group’s needs and requirements, such as extending the tour and including more activities and visits. Talk to our school travel experts for more information and assistance planning your trip.
